The Chef Stirs
Our son will be seven in September. He has gotten more and more interested in cooking. Tonight, my husband (yes, he cooks!) chose Hamburger Helper Lasagna for the meal and let our son pour ingredients in and stir. A great lesson for my son and encourages him to be a bigger part of the family.

Collards and Ham
Happy New Year!
I am from Charleston, SC where the traditional New Years dish is Hoppin John and collard greens. Hoppin John is made with bacon, bacon grease, black eyed peas, and onions. My sister always made a couple of pots of that dish.
This year, my parents sent home a large ham, so my husband has been incorporating the ham in every dish we eat. Thus, you see ham adulterating the collards in this picture.
