Let It Snow

Let It Snow
Originally uploaded by rudimyers
An amazingly rare occurrence in Chesnee, SC - snow on Christmas Day. The family opened presents, played with presents, and enjoyed the day. The husband and older son braved the mixture of snow and rain to go for a four mile ride/run (husband ran while older son rode his bike). The snow started coming down in a serious manner around 4:00 this afternoon.

Snow Fall

It snowed today. The weather people told us to expect six inches of snow. I think we have 1/4 of an inch at 6:28 PM (EST as I am typing this). Not exactly the storm of the century. It took me several times, but I caught this version of snow outside. I like how the snow falling looks "wormy" or "chalky".

The Daily Shoot photo assignment asked people to take a picture of the season we were currently experiencing. Spartanburg had just received sleet. Here is a picture of some of the yet unmelted sleet and some flowers sprouting at Spartanburg Day School.

Snow Running

So It is Winter

Winter hit Chesnee, SC full force yesterday. We received a bit of snow but more sleet. It is 2:43 as I type this, and the temperature reads 28. No more sleet has fallen, and we only have three inches on the ground. It is enough of a coating to keep us house bound. I ventured outside to feed the birds and took these pictures of our winter landscape.
